
There are countless activities to choose from in the area surrounding Plockton. Hillwalking is hugely popular attracting visitors all year round, whatever the weather. We are a good base for walking trips to the Cuillins of Skye, the Five Sisters of Kintail, the Cluanie Ridge or the Torridon Mountains. something a little less strenuous there are numerous
gentle walks with some stunning
views around the
village itself and the immediate area.
There are several public gardens to be visited nearby. The closest being Balmacara Woodland Gardens, Armadale Castle Gardens and Attadale Gardens.
We are only a ten minute drive from the Skye Bridge which
leads to many different sights and attractions from Golf to
the Skye Riding Centre to Dunvegan Castle and the Talisker Distillery.
There’s even the Skye Serpentarium and Reptile World in Broadford.
In Plockton itself, you can’t visit without experiencing one of Calum’s Seal Trips. He runs 4 a day,
all leaving from the village and he’s so certain you’ll see seals he’ll give you the trip free if you don’t!
You can also hire out boats and canoes for sea lovers from Plockton Boat Hire.
For art lovers The Plockton Gallery is directly across the road from the Inn and The Studio is a minute’s walk towards the harbour. Five minutes drive away is the Craig Highland Farm which is great for the kids who can meet many of the animals including Sid the Llama. Eilean Donan Castle is only a 15 minute drive away and is open to the public until 5.30pm every day from April to October.
